Developed Sections through building.
Here's the building sections that I'll be presenting on Monday morning first thing. If shows the basic structural layout, materials that are being used and even a few details of how i think it will work. Now to start working on the renders and I'll be set.

First Render from inside
Well after a night of downloading Gsm files for archicad, I've been able to final produce a render.
Fairly happy with it as I know there is still a long way to go.

Door Handle into the Ducati VIP room
This Door Handle into the Ducati VIP room was sculpted using the forms found on the Fairings of the 2011 Ducati 1198 SP superbike.
The Ducati Red highlights provide insight into what lies within the room beyond and the polished stainless is sculpted using the forms found on the fairings of this award winning Superbike making this door handle uniquely styled.

Detailing
Just a few photos I took the other day that I think need to be used within my building.
I think its really important that the users (Motorcycle enthusiasts) of my building can understand that its been designed with their interests in mind.
I plan on using these images to help me develop structural systems, fine detailing and cladding ideas.

Facade Design
So I've gotten the idea for my building. now lets try and make it work,
I was also thinking that these curved elements can then occupy the space within my building. So instead of using walls to define the spaces that are within, I can use these objects that lower the ceiling levels giving certain areas like that of the museums and security gates a higher priority.
Another benefit of using these shapes is that the Whisper room that I was using to amplify the sounds from the race track into one small point, can be easily included within the design of the facade and building.

Facade Treatment
I'm happy with the overall schematic design for my building, and I've locked in the idea of how to separate the VIP from it's original position to above the grandstand, and I've locked in how the museums and the track now relate.
Although I'm happy with how this is working schematicaly, I'm not happy with how this translates into a built form. So I've decided that its now time to start and redefine the facade and overall appearance of my building to something that is easily recognisable.
Other Race Track facilities that I've investigated use elements from racing design and technology to define the buildings shape.
Silverstone Raceway in the UK is a perfect example of this.Designed by Populous Architects it reflects the design of the F1 spoilers.

Race Observation
Currently you arrive at the track to watch the live event, with TV's to supplement the areas that you cant see, to replay events in slow motion and to bring you information that you just cant get in real life. The split second differences between 1st and 2nd.
Perhaps the only way to fully watch and enjoy every aspect of a race tracks environment is with the aid of multiple TV's.
Positioning ones self in the middle would display all the information theycould ever want. Laps times, records, overall position, historical information, replays, slow mo's, and recaps. advertisements and product information.

VIP Room
As promised, here's the first draft of the type of internal design that I was thinking for each of the VIP room.
Each room will be there to support a particular team, rider or manufacturer.

Developed Design
Within Developed Design we have been asked to focus on one part of project and develop it to a point in which we can show a client. The idea is to show the client what it is that they are going to get from the final form and how their project will look both inside and out.
The areas I'm going to focus on are the VIP's suites and the foyers that links these spaces with the main gallery and museum spaces.
My plan is to take the colors and designs for the Motorcycle race teams and use them as inspiration of how to design each of the Suites. After all, the people in these suites during the race days are their to support a team, a rider, or a manufacturer. Why not allow them to make a visual connection with where they are and who they are supporting.

BCA Compliance Report
So for those of you that are interested in what it takes to get a Pit Lane Facility documented to comply with Building Code of Australia, then here is the report for you to flick through.
It pretty much runs through the types of Access and Egress issues that can exist within such a large building.
Fire Exit and Fire Corridors, Separation and Compartmentalisation are all things that I've needed to look at.
